Rinku Singh spending INR 50 lakhs on building hostel for underprivileged cricketers in Aligarh - Reports
Rinku Singh’s father Khanchand is an LPG gas cylinder delivery man and his brothers used to work as auto driver and mopped floors of a local coaching centre.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) hero Rinku Singh, has made a huge name for himself in IPL 2023, especially after his 5 consecutive sixes against Gujarat Titans which helped KKR to win a match out of nowhere.
He was bought by the KKR franchise in the 2018 IPL auction for INR 80 lakhs but showed his true skills in IPL 2022 when he almost took the team to a victory over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), single-handedly.
The 26-year-old batter has already scored 174 runs this IPL season and will be aiming to continue his scoring prowess in the upcoming matches. After the match-winning knock against Gujarat Titans, Rinku went on to score his first fifty in IPL in the very next match against Sunrisers Hyderabad and almost took his team to win there as well.
Rinku Singh to build a 14-room hostel for underprivileged cricketers in Aligarh- Coach Masood Uz Zafar Amini
Not only is Rinku Singh an amazing cricketer, he also has a heart of gold. Reports have suggested that the cricketer is building a hostel for underprivileged cricketers in his hometown Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh.
His father is an LPG gas cylinder delivery man and his brothers used to drive an auto and mop floors of a local coaching center. And from that humble background, Rinku Singh has reached enormous heights.
And now after suffering such harshness, he wants to give back to the game which has given him everything. His childhood coach Masood Uz Zafar Amini spoke with The New Indian Express and gave light on the project.
"He always wanted to build a hostel for young players, who do not have financial resources to pursue their dreams. As he is financially sound now, he has decided to make it a reality, Almost 90 percent of the work is done. It will get ready by next month. Rinku will inaugurate it once he is back from the IPL. Hopefully, this facility will make life easier for these youngsters," Amini said.
The hostel will have 14 rooms with each room having a capacity of 4 children for the Aligarh Cricket School, which is run by Amini.
The report also mentioned that Rinku Singh is personally overseeing all the work and has borne all the expenses. The facility will also have a canteen which will provide quality, healthy food to the players.
