"Nahi todunga…" [Watch] Rinku Singh asks Virat Kohli for a new bat in a cute way

Rinku Singh has managed to score just 83 runs in five innings in the ongoing IPL 2024.

The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will meet the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in their second clash of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the famous Eden Gardens stadium.

On May 29, when RCB hosted KKR at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, Virat Kohli, despite being heartbroken that his knock of 83 off 59 was in vain, complied with Rinku Singh’s request and offered him one of his own bats.

Rinku, overjoyed with the gift for the Indian legend, later rushed to social media to share a photo of it, which quickly went viral.

However, after a few days, Rinku Singh was seen conversing with Virat Kohli and informing him that the bat he gave him was broken while batting at nets. Kohli was surprised at this revelation, and then Rinku began requesting Kohli for a new bat, which Kohli started sidestepping.

Rinku made the same request to Kohli again, but this time he found himself in the middle of an uncomfortable argument, facing the wrath of the former Bengaluru captain.

As Rinku examined two of Kohli’s bats on the margins of a practice session in Kolkata on Saturday, the experienced Indian batsman inquired about how he shattered the last bat. Kohli warned Rinku that if he continued to give out bats throughout the tournament, he would be in trouble.  

Here is how the conversation went:

“Rinku: I broke the bat (you gave) against a spinner.

Kohli: My bat?

Rinku: Yes

Kohli: You broke it against a spinner? Where did you break it from?

Rinku: From the middle.

Kohli: What should I do then?

Rinku: I was just informing you.

Kohli: No problem. Good that you told me. But I don’t need information.

(Rinku then starts knocking the ball on one of Virat’s bats.)

Kohli: This bat is no good.

Singh: Are you sending one?

Kohli: To whom am I sending?

Rinku: You can keep it (returns Virat’s bats to him)

Kohli: You took a bat from me previously. Now you want second bat in second game? Teri vajah se na, jo meri baad mei halat hoti hai na (Because of you, I face consequences later).

Rinku: I swear on you, won’t break the bat again. I can show you the broken bat.”
