Rinku Singh scored 22 off 14 balls in the first T20I game against Australia in Vishakapatnam.

In a nail-biting encounter between India and Australia in the 1st T20I at Visakhapatnam, Rinku Singh emerged as the hero, steering India to a dramatic win with a last-ball six. Both the teams had thrilling performances, reaching the climax when India needed just one run to seal the victory.

Australian innings saw formidable contributions from Steven Smith, Matthew Short, and a stunning century by Josh Inglis, propelling them to a challenging total of 208/3. In response, India faced early setbacks with quick wickets, but a stellar partnership between Ishan Kishan (58) and skipper Suryakumar Yadav (80) revived the innings. India reached the target in 19.5 overs with 2 wickets remaining.

As the tension mounted and the match hurtled towards a thrilling conclusion, the spotlight turned to Rinku Singh. Known for his finishing abilities in domestic leagues and IPL, Singh showcased nerves in the crunch moments. However, fate took a curious turn on the last ball when, with one run needed, Singh smashed a six but was denied the glory. A no-ball call, courtesy of Sean Abbott’s overstepping, meant the six wasn’t added to the scorecard. India, nevertheless, secured victory with one ball to spare.
