Rishabh Pant slammed 134 runs with bat in first innings of the IND vs ENG first test.
Indian Cricket Team keeper-batter Rishabh Pant was a live wire on the field during the second innings of the ongoing first test against the England Cricket Team. The Headingley in Leeds is hosting the game between the two teams.
After India posted a total of 471 runs on the board, they had a tough time with the ball. This is because England too had a brilliant outing with the bat as they scored quickly and put Indian bowlers under pressure, getting close to the opposition’s total.
England batters Ollie Pope (106) and Harry Brook (99) troubled Indian bowlers a lot in the middle phase before lower-order batters in Jamie Smith (40), Chris Woakes (38) and Brydon Carse (22) added salt to India’s wounds with their brilliant batting effort.
The conditions also didn’t favour India, as for the majority of the day, the batting seemed easy. Also, the ball didn’t look great as well as it seemed a bit deformed and Indian players were again and again asking umpires to check it and change it, but the officials were against it.
One of the eye-catching moments came when Rishabh Pant went to the umpire with the ball, showing him how it had deteriorated. But the official told him that there’s nothing wrong, and this made the Indian vice-captain extremely angry as he was seen fuming at the umpire and even threw the ball in frustration.

Earlier, Rishabh Pant had a staggering outing with the bat for India. The keeper-batter, who walked out to bat at five, played in his usual aggressive way. The left-hander slammed his seventh ton in tests, playing an innings of 134 runs.
Apart from him, Shubman Gill (147) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (101) also slammed centuries that powered India to a big total. But, it wasn’t as big for England as they replied with 465, allowing the visitors to take a lead of just six runs.
