Rishabh Pant was seen attending Delhi Capitals’ training camp.

Rishabh Pant, the regular Delhi Capitals captain, was seen attending the franchise’s training camp, which is being held in Kolkata. Pant is currently out of contention as he makes strides towards full fitness after surviving a horrific car crash in December last year.

Pant had to undergo several surgeries for the burns he sustained, and then in Mumbai, he underwent a knee surgery that had been causing him problems for some time and was aggravated by the car crash. After months of crutches, Pant made his first public appearance during IPL 2023, when he attended Delhi Capitals’ match in Kotla.

Since then, Rishabh Pant has started walking without crutches and even began batting in the nets. He played a cricket match for the first time on August 15 of this year in Bengaluru. Since then, he has been spending more time getting his strength back at the NCA.

He began working on intense drills for wicket-keeping and began facing bowls at around 150 kph. While he wasn’t chosen in Indian team for the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, speculations of Rishabh Pant making his Indian team return either on the tour of South Africa later this year or against England in the test series in January–February 2024.

If reports are to be believed, then BCCI wants to be conservative and give him a chance to get back into match fitness. Pant may play domestic cricket before returning to Indian team.

A short video recorded by a fan on the social media platform ‘X’ provided a look into Pant’s exceptional health and bright spirits. The footage shows Pant interacting with fans, smiling, and posing for photos as he joins Delhi Capitals’ training camp in Kolkata.

Cricket fans are keeping a watch on events as talk of Pant’s return grows. Indian cricket team’s excellent performance at the World Cup has already caused a wave of euphoria among supporters, and Pant’s potential return adds another depth to the excitement.
