Rishabh Pant scored 54 runs off 75 balls in first innings of the fourth test against England.

Indian Cricket Team keeper-batter Rishabh Pant has achieved a massive feat for his team in the history of test cricket. The keeper-batter broke Rohit Sharma‘s record to become the leading run-getter for his team in the history of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC). 

Rishabh Pant achieved the feat in the ongoing fourth test between England and India. The penultimate game of the five-match series between the teams is taking place at Old Trafford in Manchester. 

Rishabh Pant went past Rohit Sharma’s tally of 2716 runs in the ICC WTC on day two of the ongoing game with an injured foot. The keeper-batter broke his right toe on day one and got retired hurt. However, he showed great courage and walked out to bat at two. 

Rishabh Pant, battling with a toe injury and unable to walk, braved his way to the gritty half-century. This was the third fifty in the series, and he ensured that his team went past 350 runs on the board in tough batting conditions. 

Rishabh Pant now has 2731 runs in the 38 matches in the history of the ICC WTC. He has also hammered six centuries and 16 fifties. He also averages 43.34 with the highest score of 146. 

In the first innings of the Manchester test, Rishabh Pant played an innings of 54 runs off 75 balls. He also slammed two sixes and three fours, taking his team’s total to 358.
