Rishabh Pant suffered a foot fracture in the Manchester test and got ruled out for six weeks.

After suffering a toe fracture during the game, Rishabh Pant has not played since the fourth test in India‘s just-finished series against England and is probably going to be sidelined for a long time. The injury happened during the exciting 2-2 draw that concluded India’s test series in England.

Pant’s fractured toe was caused by an incident that occurred during the fourth test match at Old Trafford. When Pant attempted one of his signature reverse sweep shots against Chris Woakes of England, he misjudged the delivery and was hit in the foot, suffering a severe fracture.

He left the field on a medi-cart, as his wound was bleeding as well. Later, it was revealed after scans at the hospital that he had suffered a fracture to his foot. However, much to the surprise of everyone, Pant walked out to resume his innings from 37 and made 54 before being bowled by Jofra Archer.

He was then ruled out of the fifth and final test and will mostly miss the Asia Cup 2025 and probably the two-match test series against the West Indies in October as well.

With two hundreds and three fifties to his credit, Pant concluded the series with 479 runs from four games at an average of 68.42.

After Andy Flower, he was the only wicket-keeper batter to score two hundreds in a single test match. In the series’ opening test match at Headingley, Leeds, he accomplished the feat.

Rishabh Pant vents his frustration on social media with his foot injury

Only a few weeks after suffering a foot injury, Rishabh Pant posted another image of his wounded foot on Wednesday, August 13.

The Indian test vice-captain hinted at the emotional toll and growing dissatisfaction of his protracted recuperation by adding an emoji to the photo on his Instagram story.

Pant commented, “I hate this so much,” after sharing a photo of his broken toe on his Instagram story.
