Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are clashing in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 on Wednesday, April 15. RCB won the toss and opted to field first in the encounter.
RCB made one change to their playing XI, replacing pacer Jacob Duffy with Josh Hazlewood while Virat Kohli has been picked as an impact player. LSG did not make any changes to their playing XI.

Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram opened the batting for LSG. However, they didn’t have a great start as Markram lost his wicket for 12 runs in the fourth over. It was then when captain Rishabh Pant walked out to bat at three.
Rishabh Pant suffers an elbow injury in RCB vs LSG clash

Pant could not bat for long as he sustained an injury in the fifth over, which was being bowled by Josh Hazlewood. Pant was hit on his stomach and elbow. He was seen in immense pain in his elbow and left the field with the team physio. Nicholas Pooran replaced him on the crease.
Pant has struggled to score runs in IPL 2026, except for one match against SRH where he scored an unbeaten 68 runs. He got out for 7, 10, and 18 in the other three matches.
Lucknow have made a decent start to the tournament. Out of four matches, they have won two matches and lost two. They take the seventh spot in the points table with four points. Their key overseas members like Aiden Markram, Mitchell Marsh, and Nicholas Pooran have struggled to perform at their best.
On the other hand, RCB have lost only one match and won three out of four so far. They occupy the third spot in the points table after Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings.
