Rishabh Pant & Kuldeep Yadav trade deal on for IPL 2027! LSG & DC likely to swap both players
A massive trade deal is likely to happen ahead of IPL 2027.
Rishabh Pant and Kuldeep Yadav performed very poorly for their respective teams in the Indian Premier League 2026. Pant captained Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the tournament and struggled with his captaincy as well as performance.
The left-handed batsman Rishabh Pant, who is the costliest player in the IPL currently, got out cheaply in most of the matches. He even tried different batting positions, but nothing worked in his favour.
Moreover, Lucknow failed to book a berth in the playoffs once again and were the worst performer, finishing last in the points table.
Similarly, Kuldeep could not make a mark with his spin bowling for Delhi Capitals (DC). The left-arm spinner has been the frontline spinner for India for the last few years. However, he lost his magical spin in IPL 2026, claiming 10 wickets in 12 games at an average of 38.10 and an expensive economy of 10.29.
Kuldeep and Pant to be traded by DC and LSG – Reports
According to a Times of India report, Delhi and Lucknow franchises are looking to trade Kuldeep and Pant from their squad ahead of the next season. Kuldeep is expected to join LSG in IPL 2027, while Pant is highly likely to return to his former team DC.
Notably, Pant was the captain of DC in IPL 2024 before parting ways with the side and joining LSG in the IPL 2025 mega auction. Before joining LSG, he spent a few years in the Capitals as a key batsman and captain.
He has endured two very poor seasons with LSG in the IPL (2025 and 2026), during which he failed miserably in both captaincy and batting. After IPL 2026, he also stepped down as LSG captain.
Meanwhile, Chinaman spinner Kuldeep has been part of DC since the 2022 edition. Earlier, he represented Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) from 2016 to 2021. Yadav has never played for LSG in the IPL.
