Kuldeep Yadav and Rishabh Pant witnessed horrible performances in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. LSG captain Pant struggled with his batting as well as his captaincy. At a poor average of 28.36, he could only score 312 runs in 13 innings, slamming just one fifty in the entire league.
LSG failed to qualify for the playoffs for another season and were the worst performer. With just four victories out of 14 games, they finished in the last spot in the points table. After the tournament, Rishabh Pant also stepped down as the captain.
Speaking about Kuldeep, he has been a premium bowler for India across all three formats for the last few years but struggled to make a mark in IPL 2026. Representing Delhi Capitals (DC), he could only pick 10 wickets in 12 games at an expensive economy of 10.29 and a poor average of 38.10.
After Pant stepped down as LSG skipper, news of his ouster from LSG ahead of IPL 2027 has been doing the rounds for the last few weeks. Now, the reports have been confirmed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Moreover, Kuldeep is also set to part ways with Delhi (DC) ahead of the next season.

In what can be termed the biggest and most surprising trade deal ahead of the next season of the Indian Premier League, Kuldeep Yadav and Rishabh Pant are set to be exchanged by Delhi Capitals (DC) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
Ahead of IPL 2027, both franchises have traded these two high-profile players among themselves. Pant is all set to rejoin his former side DC at INR 15 crore ahead of the next IPL season, down from his price of INR 27 crore with LSG. On the other hand, Kuldeep Yadav will join LSG at INR 13.5 crore, joining the side for the first-ever time in his IPL career.
“Former Lucknow Super Giants captain Rishabh Pant is set for a return to Delhi Capitals (DC), while Kuldeep Yadav will join Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), following one of the most significant player trades in recent IPL history,” the BCCI informed in an official statement on their official website.
