Rishabh Pant can break the record for most runs by an Indian wicket-keeper batsman in a test series.

Indian wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant is on the cusp of breaking a massive record in the upcoming test against England. The Indian Cricket Team and the England Cricket Team are gearing up for the fourth test, which will commence on July 23 at Old Trafford, Manchester.

India’s test vice-captain Rishabh Pant has shown wonderful form in the ongoing test series. With 425 runs in three games, he is the second-highest run-scorer in the series after Shubman Gill (607). The left-handed batsman has slammed two centuries and two half-centuries in the series.

In the opening game at Headingley, Pant hammered centuries in both innings to become the first Indian player to score twin centuries in a test match in England. He also became the Indian wicket-keeper with the most test centuries, breaking MS Dhoni’s record.

Notably, Pant sustained a finger injury in the previous test at the Lord’s. Due to the injury, Dhruv Jurel kept the stumps for India. However, Pant came out to bat in both innings of the match and also scored a half-century in the first innings.

He is expected to recover ahead of the fourth test. England lead the five-match test series 2-1. India have never defeated England in a test match in Manchester. Out of nine games at the venue, England won four matches while five clashes ended in a draw.
