Rishabh Pant made six runs in the 3rd SL vs IND ODI in Colombo.
Indian wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant missed an easy stumping chance during the final match of the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on August 7.
The incident happened during the last ball of the 49th over of Sri Lanka’s innings when Maheesh Theekshana moved out of the crease against India leg spinner Kuldeep Yadav.
Theekshana decided to have a go against Kuldeep. Even before the bowler had delivered the ball, the Lanka batter stepped out of his crease and had a wild swing across the line but missed it completely. The ball went straight into Pant’s wicket-keeping gloves.
However, bizarrely, Pant took some time to dislodge the bails, which allowed Theekshana to come back into the crease. The on-field umpire went upstairs to check the stumping.
The third umpire took some time to check several replays before making the decision. The replays showed that Theekshana managed to make his ground even after stepping out from the crease before Pant could dislodge the bails.
Theekshana survived after Rishabh Pant missed an easy stumping chance due to his carelessness.

Sri Lanka defeated India by 110 runs in the 3rd ODI and clinched the series 2-0
The Indian cricket team suffered a shocking defeat in the final match by 110 runs and lost the three-match ODI series 2-0. This was Sri Lanka’s first bilateral ODI series win over the Men in Blue since 1997.
Earlier in the match, Avishka Fernando made 96 runs, which helped the hosts score 248/7 in 50 overs after skipper Charith Asalanka decided to bat first on a tricky Colombo pitch. For India, debutant Riyan Parag took a three-wicket haul.
While chasing, Indian batters once again had no answers against the quality spin bowling attack of Sri Lanka. Captain Rohit Sharma (35) and all-rounder Washington Sundar (30) showed some fight.
The visitors were all out for 138 runs in 26.1 overs and lost the match by 110 runs. Left-arm spinner Dunith Wellalage dismissed five Indian batters.
Wellalage also took the two big wickets of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. The Lankan star was adjudged Player of the Series for impressive performances with both bat and ball.
