[Watch] Rishabh Pant's excellent one-handed stunner to get rid of David Miller in GT vs DC IPL 2024 clash
Rishabh Pant was awarded Player of the Match award for his all-round show against GT.
The 32nd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 saw a one-sided contest between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Gujarat Titans (DC). After winning the toss, the Delhi Capitals decided to bowl first.
DC’s outstanding bowling abilities were on full display early on as they successfully limited the Gujarat Titans. In a brisk 17.3 overs, the bowlers were superb in their execution, destroying GT batters and reducing them to a pitiful 89 runs. Rashid Khan, the lone Gujarat Titans’ warrior, showed remarkable grit and fighting spirit while scoring 31 runs off of 24 balls in a difficult scenario. He tried his hardest, but Delhi’s pin-point bowling execution was too much.
DC wasted little time chasing the target. They chased the target as quickly as they could. DC chased down the score in just 8.5 overs. They not only won the game, but also significantly increased their net run rate.
Delhi Capitals have so far won three of their seven IPL games. With this crushing triumph, they have clinched sixth place in the standings. They have managed to improve their net run rate with this big win. DC now have a NRR of -0.074.
GT, however, slipped to the seventh position with a record that is identical to Delhi’s in terms of wins and losses, but their net run rate is worse. Their net run rate is -1.303 as a consequence of the big loss that they suffered against DC today.

Rishabh Pant and the team management will be pleased with the team’s big win in this game. On the other hand, GT will have to recover quickly and return even more positively after this loss. As the competition progresses, both sides will be determined to improve and push for the top 4.
Meanwhile, while picking up the wicket of David Miller, wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant displayed his extraordinary reflexes and fitness. Ishant Sharma bowled a back-of-a-length delivery to David Miller, who was on the back foot. Miller wanted to play it on the leg side, and the ball sped past Miller’s thigh pads as it hurtled towards Pant behind the stumps.
Rishabh Pant’s reflexes were so quick that he could grab a spectacular left-handed catch with ease. Pant opted to go for the DRS after the onfield umpire first gave it not out. Concrete proof was provided by the Ultra-Edge technology, which displayed a distinct spike when the ball slid past the bat. With this catch, Rishabh Pant has proved that he is well and truly back after a hiatus of one and a half years.
