Rajasthan Royals (RR) are clashing with Delhi Capitals (DC) in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 on Friday, May 1. RR skipper Riyan Parag won the toss and opted to bat first in the clash, which is taking place at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
Rajasthan suffered a big blow at the start, losing both openers within two overs. While Yashasvi Jaiswal became a victim of Mitchell Starc in the first over, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was dismissed by Kyle Jamieson in the second over.
However, Parag led the from the front with bat, smashing 90 runs off 50 deliveries with the help of eight fours and five sixes. With Dhruv Jurel (42), he etched a stunning stand of 102 runs for the second wicket.
Later, he added a 53-run stand with Ravindra Jadeja. In the end, quickfire 14-ball 47 by Donovan Ferreira helped RR to reach a mammoth total of 225/6.

Notably, Parag suffered an injury scare in the second innings of the match. After the 11th over of Delhi Capitals’ batting, he left the field and undertook some treatment on his legs.
It looked like a cramp but could also be a hamstring. He got straps on his leg and sat in the dugout. The RR skipper was seen guiding his players from outside the boundary with his inputs. After he left the field, Yashasvi Jaiswal took the leadership duties.
Notably, this was Parag’s first half-century in IPL 2026. In the previous games, he came up with back-to-back flop batting shows. Earlier, he even struggled to cross the 30-run mark and got out for single digits on multiple instances. At an average of 23.0, he now has 207 runs in 10 games in his kitty.
