Virat Kohli scored 135, while Rohit Sharma slammed 57 in the first IND vs SA ODI.
The Indian Cricket Team batter Virat Kohli was at his absolute best with the bat in the first ODI against the South African Cricket Team. The series opener between the teams is underway at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi.
Virat Kohli walked out to bat in the fourth over and was all over the bowlers right from the start. The right-hander joined Rohit Sharma (57) after the dismissal of Yashasvi Jaiswal (18) and the duo made the South African bowlers look clueless with their blistering batting.
Kohli and Sharma took India off to a great start and slammed 136 runs for the second wicket. Once the opener was back in the hut, the onus was on Kohli to carry on and take his team to the big total in the first ODI against South Africa and he did exactly that.
Kohli first slammed a brisk fifty and then went on to hit a brilliant ton despite wickets falling at the other end. He continued batting in the same flow and ended up hitting a sensational century, his 52nd in ODI cricket.
Kohli, who completed his 83 centuries in international cricket, celebrated in an aggressive yet calm way. He brought out his trademark jump and then kissed his wedding ring as he then thanked god for his landmark.

However, even more than Kohli, there was someone else who was even more chuffed and it was none other than Rohit Sharma. The opening batter celebrated his teammate’s ton aggressively as he was seen yelling “Cmon B******d” and celebrating.
Here’s the video:
Kohli slammed 135 runs off 120 balls with the help of 11 fours and 7 sixes. Thanks to his heroics with the bat, India posted a total of 349 runs on the board.
Notably, there have been lots of talks going around the future of Kohli and Rohit ODIs. Despite them scoring consistently, selectors reportedly want them to prove themselves. However, since the last series, they have been at their best and are helping the team win.
