The Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) faced off in the 25th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. This match will take place on April 11, 2024, at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.

Hardik Pandya chose to bowl first after winning the toss since the pitch was packed with runs. RCB suffered several cheap wickets, including Virat Kohli (3), Will Jacks (8), and Glenn Maxwell (0).

Rajat Patidar joined captain Faf du Plessis to add 82 runs for the third wicket. Faf du Plessis (61 with four fours and three sixes) and Rajat Patidar (50 with four sixes and three fours) helped the RCB regain control of the game.

Dinesh Karthik went berserk against the Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium, leading his team to a massive 196-run victory. The 38-year-old RCB batter hit an unbeaten 53 off just 23 deliveries. This includes 19 runs off the last over, including two sixes bowled by Akash Madhwal.

During his innings, Karthik exchanged a humorous banter with former MI captain Rohit Sharma. The Hitman was seen saying something that sounded like ‘You have to play the World Cup.’

As heard live, Rohit told Dinesh Karthik: “Shabas DK, World Cup Khelna Hain Abhi (Fantastic, DK. You have to play the World Cup).”

Notably, Dinesh Karthik was included in India’s 2022 T20 World Cup squad solely based on his brilliant outing in IPL 2022. He had scored 330 runs in 16 games that season at a strike rate of 183.33 and averaged 55 with the best score of 66*. He had hit 27 fours and 22 sixes in that season.
