Rohit Sharma got out cheaply for eight runs in the first IND vs AUS ODI in Perth.

Indian Cricket Team are clashing with Australian Cricket Team in the first ODI at the Optus Stadium in Perth on Sunday, October 19. For the first time in the last few years, Rohit Sharma played an ODI game without his captain’s tag as he was recently replaced by Shubman Gill as the new ODI skipper.

Moreover, Rohit made a comeback to ODI cricket after a long gap, having played his last game during ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in March. Both Gill and Rohit opened the innings for India after Australia captain Mitchell Marsh opted to bowl first after winning the toss.

Rohit failed to make a mark with the bat on his comeback. In the fourth over, he was caught at second slip off Josh Hazlewood’s delivery. The right-handed batsman started well with a boundary, however, he could not hold his ground for long, scoring just eight runs off 14 balls.
