Rohit Sharma scored two half-centuries in the recent ODI series against South Africa.
Former India captain Rohit Sharma declined to eat cake despite Virat Kohli‘s insistence that Yashasvi Jaiswal feed the Mumbaikar as India celebrated their three-match ODI series victory over South Africa in Vizag.
India defeated South Africa by nine wickets in the third and final ODI in Vizag, owing to Yashasvi Jaiswal’s 116* and half-centuries from Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Earlier, South Africa scored 270, with Quinton de Kock batting 106 and Kuldeep Yadav and Prasidh Krishna taking four wickets each.
Following the triumph, the team held a little celebration at their Vizag hotel, and Jaiswal was invited to cut the cake. He and Kohli were called up together, but Kohli insisted on the youngster taking center stage.
Given their formidable century-opening partnership, Kohli requested Jaiswal to give the slice to Rohit first.
But when Jaiswal turned to Rohit, the batter immediately declined with a laugh, saying, “Main phir se mota ho jaunga (I’ll become fat again),” leaving the room in splits.

Rohit Sharma’s incredible physical transformation leads to dominance in recent ODIs
Rohit’s physical metamorphosis this year has been a huge discussion topic. Prior to the Australia tour and his recent return to ODIs, Rahul underwent a tough fitness regimen with former assistant coach Abhishek Nayar.
He lost about 10 kg in the last few months thanks to a hard regimen that included grueling gym sessions with 700-800 repetitions per body part, as well as CrossFit and cardio six days a week. He also changed his diet, giving up luxuries like Mumbai’s popular vada pav.
Rohit has been in excellent form, scoring 73 off 97 balls in the second ODI in Adelaide, becoming the first Indian hitter to reach 1,000 ODI runs in Australia. In Sydney, he backed it up with a dominant, undefeated 121 as India chased down 237 to win by nine wickets.
He continued to play well against South Africa in the home series. He scored his 60th half-century in the format with ease in the opening ODI in Ranchi. He anchored a solid opening stand that put India on track to win the series in the pivotal third ODI in Visakhapatnam, scoring a calm 75 from 73 balls.
