Rohit Sharma expresses desire to play the knockouts of SMAT 2025 - Reports

Rohit Sharma has retired from the T20Is but is active in T20s.
Indian Cricket Team batter Rohit Sharma is all set to feature in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025. As per the reports in The Times of India, it is learned that the senior batter has expressed his desire to play in the knockouts of the tournament for Mumbai.
Rohit Sharma, who has retired from the T20Is and tests, will be playing the domestic T20 tournament as the Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) in India made it mandatory for all the Indian players to feature in the domestic circuit, especially Rohit and Kohli, who are now active in just one format.
Even though, he has retired from the T20s, he will be playing in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025 knockouts for Mumbai. The knockouts of the tournament will be played in Indore from December 12-18 and having won all their four matches, Mumbai are expected to play the knockout stage.
“Rohit has expressed his desire to play for Mumbai in the knockouts of SMAT,” said a source close to the Mumbai Cricket Association.

Rohit Sharma is currently part of the Indian team for the ODIs against South Africa. The right-hander played a brilliant innings of 57 runs in the opening match of the series in Ranchi but fell for just 14 in the second game at Raipur.
He will be next seen in action in the third ODI against South Africa, which will be played on December 6. Rohit, who is the number-one ranked ODI batter, would be keen to end the series on a high and help his team win the game as well series in Visakhapatnam.
Rohit Sharma might also play the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26. After the ODIs against South Africa, there is a long gap for the next series against New Zealand. With Virat Kohli also confirming his availability, Rohit too might play a few games in the tournament.
