Rohit Sharma has looked in great shape for the last one month. The right-hander has shed some weight and recently worked with Abhishek Nayar in Mumbai to prepare for his international return. He was expected to lead the team in the Australia ODIs.

But on the day of the squad announcement, he was replaced as the ODI skipper by Shubman Gill. The decision was taken, keeping in mind the future of Indian cricket as Ajit Agarkar, chairman of selectors, mentioned that it was not possible to keep three different captains.
The upcoming series will be important for Rohit Sharma as there have been lots of talks surrounding his retirement as well. He would be keen to reply all the critics and make a grand comeback. Notably, in his lasting outing for India, he was the Man of the Match.
With no burden of captaincy, it will be a great opportunity for him to take his batting to different level and make a massive impact in the series.
