Indian Cricket Team won the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy.

The winners of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, Indian Cricket Team have finally left Barbados to fly back home. India defeated South Africa in the final on June 29 in Barbados to become two-time World Champions. However, they were stuck in the hotel ever since Hurricane Beryl wreaked havoc for three days.

Finally, the BCCI has sent a chartered Air India flight for the Indian players, their families, support staff, and other personnel. Jay Shah ever offered the Indian journalists who covered the tournament, a ride back home along with the Team India contingent.

The flight took off from New Jersey, USA, on July 2 and landed at Barbados’ Grantley Adams International Airport about 2 a.m. local time. The flight took off about 4:50 a.m. local time and will land in India’s national capital around 6:20 a.m. (IST) on Thursday.

The Indian squad was supposed to leave at 6 p.m. local time on July 2 and arrive at 7.45 p.m. (IST) on Wednesday, but the departure was pushed back since the plane landed late.

As per the India Today report, The Indian team, along with the country’s journalists, will arrive in New Delhi early Thursday morning. The Indian squad will have a hectic schedule on Thursday, meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi before flying to Mumbai for the celebrations.

Team India to have an open bus parade like the 2007 T20 champs got

After meeting the Indian PM Narendra Modi, the entire contingent will then board a chartered flight from Delhi to Mumbai. Here the team is scheduled to do Victory Parade from Marine Drive to the Wankhede Stadium.

Just like the 2007 T20 World Cup champion Indian team was given an open bus parade, the 2024 champion Indian team will also be given an open bus parade.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma and BCCI secretary Jay Shah posted open messages for fans and invited them to join them in the Victory Parade, which will take place on Thursday from 5 PM onwards.

“India, we want to enjoy this special moment with all of you. So let’s celebrate this win with a victory parade at Marine Drive & Wankhede on July 4th from 5:00pm onwards. It’s coming home.” posted Rohit Sharma on X (formerly Twitter)
