On Thursday, Team India finally reached home on a special flight arranged by the BCCI. They began the day with a special breakfast with PM Narendra Modi in Delhi and then travelled to Mumbai, where they had a victory parade on an open rooftop bus on Marine Drive. Rohit Sharma, who is the only Indian player to be part of the 2007 and 2024 T20 World Cup wins, talked about the love and emotions of the fans.

In the video by the BCCI, he also talked about two wins and said that the 2024 one was more special because he was leading the team. Rohit Sharma said, “2007 was a different feeling, we started off in the afternoon, and this is in the evening. I cannot forget 2007 as it was my first World Cup. This is little more special because I was leading the team, so it’s a very proud moment for me. This is going to be mad and it shows how much it means not just to us but also to the entire nation. It means a lot. So, I am very happy that we could achieve something like this for them as well.”

Fans came out in big numbers to welcome the Indian team, and it was a packed house at the Wankhede Stadium, where the World Cup-winning squad was felicitated. Even the Indian players were seen enjoying the moments and were singing and dancing in joy. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja, who announced their retirements from T20Is following the final, will be seen next playing in the ODIs and tests for India.
