Rohit Sharma has not won ICC Cricket World Cup in his career.
The focus is now on 50-over cricket as India gets ready for their ODI series against West Indies. The first ODI will be played in Thiruvananthapuram on September 27, followed by matches in Guwahati and New Chandigarh.
The series will also help India prepare for the 2027 ODI World Cup. The tournament will be played in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.
India have a long ODI schedule before the World Cup, giving the team enough games to prepare and find the right combination.

Amid this, Rohit Sharma has spoken about his plans for the 2027 World Cup. Speaking to JioStar, Rohit said he is still looking forward to the tournament and does not feel that his journey is over.
“The thought will never cross my mind that the business I had is finished. As long as you’re playing, there is always something to look forward to, and I’m looking forward to the World Cup, looking at what lies ahead for me.”
Rohit also spoke about the challenge of playing an ICC tournament. He said players have to face different teams and play at different venues, so they need to prepare in a different way.
“You have to prepare differently, think in a different way, and that is the challenge.”
The 2027 edition could be another big opportunity for Rohit, who led India in the 2023 ODI World Cup. India reached the final that year but lost to Australia.
Rohit has also been part of India’s World Cup campaigns in the past. He made his ODI World Cup debut in 2015 and later played a key role with the bat in the 2019 tournament, where he scored five centuries.
His comments come after Virat Kohli also spoke about the 2027 World Cup. Kohli has confirmed that the tournament will be his last World Cup for India.
With the West Indies series now around the corner, India will begin another phase of their ODI preparations. For Rohit, the focus will be on the games ahead and what he can contribute as India builds towards the 2027 World Cup.
