Rohit Sharma's record in the Qualifiers of the IPL

One of the major reasons behind MI advancing into the Qualifier 2 of IPL 2025 was Rohit Sharma.
Mumbai Indians (MI) batter Rohit Sharma is arguably one of the finest batters in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The opening batter has done an incredible job in the league and is amongst the most successful players in the tournament.
Rohit Sharma, who has won one trophy with the now-defunct Deccan Chargers and five with Mumbai Indians, has also achieved a huge success as a captain. Under his leadership, MI won five titles and are the joint-most successful team in the tournament, along with Chennai Super Kings (CSK), who also have five trophies in their kitty.
Rohit Sharma is currently part of MI in IPL 2025. There are very high chances that the senior batter might add one more title to his cabinet as the franchise is in the playoffs of the ongoing edition and is just two wins away from lifting yet another title.
MI, who finished fourth on the points table, started their playoffs journey in the ongoing IPL 2025 with a win over Gujarat Titans (GT) in the Eliminator. The five-time champions will now be taking on Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the Qualifier 2 at the Narendra Modi International Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday (1st June).
One of the major reasons behind MI advancing into Qualifier 2 was Rohit Sharma. The senior opener brought his best with the bat and slammed a magnificent half-century to take his team to a big total in the Eliminator. The right-hander played an innings of 81 runs that powered his side to a total of 228 runs and then eventually win the game by 20 runs.
That was Rohit Sharma’s fourth fifty in the ongoing IPL 2025, and interestingly, whenever he scored a half-century for the team in the ongoing season, they have emerged victorious. Hence, skipper Hardik Pandya and team management would be hoping that the senior player hits two more fifties and takes the side to a title win.
Rohit Sharma’s record in the Qualifiers of the IPL
However, Rohit Sharma’s record in the Qualifiers of the IPL suggests something different. The opening batter has a terrible record in the Qualifier matches and has never been able to go past the 30-run mark in all the encounters that he has played over the years.
Overall, Rohit Sharma has played nine innings in the Qualifiers and has slammed just 81 runs. The premier batter also averages 9 and has an underwhelming strike rate of just over 92.

However, with the kind of form that he is in, he would be keen to better his record and play a big innings for his side in another important clash. PBKS, on the other hand, will be entering the game on the back of the defeat against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Qualifier 1.
