India captain Rohit Sharma was pumped up after Hardik Pandya dismissed Bangladesh opener Liton Das.

India captain Rohit Sharma hurled abuse in his aggressive celebration of the wicket of Bangladesh opener Liton Das during their Super 8 match of the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

The two Asian teams met in match number 47 of the tournament, at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua, on June 22. The Men In Blue registered a comfortable victory with Hardik Pandya starring with the bat and Kuldeep Yadav with the ball.

Bangladesh were set a tall target of 197. Openers Liton and Tanzid Hasan started off slowly against Arshdeep Singh and Jasprit Bumrah, managing 16 runs in the first three overs. The fourth over, bowled by Axar Patel, brought 11 runs, and then Liton pulled Hardik for a six in the fifth over.

However, Pandya had the last laugh as Das got out while playing another pull shot, with Suryakumar Yadav taking a good catch at deep square leg. Hardik had taken the pace off the ball and hence Das couldn’t clear the fence on this occasion.

Once Suryakumar completed the catch and the Das’ wicket was sealed for India, captain Rohit celebrated animatedly by punching in the air and hurled the famous “Bhe*****” abuse.

Kuldeep has spun a web around the Bangladeshi batters and picked up a three-wicket haul while conceding 19 runs in his four-over spell. India are progressing toward a huge victory. At the time of writing, Bangladesh are 137/6 after 18 overs.
