Rohit Sharma hit a sensational century in the third ENG vs IND ODI at the Lord’s Cricket Ground in London.
Senior Indian Cricket Team batter Rohit Sharma was at his best in the third ODI against the England Cricket Team. At the home of cricket, the opening batter looked at home and gave a befitting reply to all the critics.
Ahead of the third ODI, there were lot of doubts over Rohit Sharma, and there were reports which claimed that the selectors had decided to move on from him. Not only this, but it was also learned that the third England vs India ODI would be his last in international cricket.
However, he defied all the odds and played one of his best innings under pressure. Chasing the mammoth target of 388 runs, Rohit ensured that India were off to a solid start with the bat as he added 147 runs for the opening wicket with captain Shubman Gill, who scored 77 runs.
Rohit stood tall at the one end and notched up a gritty half-century. However, after that, he looked completely different and made sure that he converts it into a big ton, hitting his 34th ODI ton and becoming the oldest Indian to hit a century, and also the first to achieve the feat at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London.
After two low scores in the first two games, Rohit Sharma slammed 138 runs off 110 balls. He batted with the strike rate of over 125 and also hit 17 fours and five sixes during his stay at the crease.
