"Keep mouth shut in India," Rohit Sharma's stern warning as SA vs IND 2nd test gets over in two days

Indian captain Rohit Sharma slammed pitch critics after Cape Town test ended under two days.
Newlands Stadium in Cape Town witnessed so much drama in the last two days as pace bowlers troubled the batters in the entire 107 overs of play. The second test between India and South Africa lasted for the shortest duration in terms of balls. Only 107 overs were bowled to conclude the match and 33 wickets fell overall. On average, a wicket fell in every three overs bowled in the entire two days of play.
Following India’s win in the two-day encounter, captain Rohit Sharma has slammed the pitch critics. Rohit Sharma also raised a question which was directed towards critics, ICC, and match referees. Rohit said that, he will not mind playing in such wickets but everyone has to accept the pitches in India as well. A lot of questions were raised on BCCI and India’s strategy when test matches were being conducted in India, which used to produce spin from day 1 and matches used to get end in two to three days.
Rohit Sharma calls out ICC and critics
While responding to a question on pitches, Indian captain Rohit Sharma at the post-match press conference said, “I don’t mind playing on pitches like this as long as everyone keeps their mouth shut in India & doesn’t complain about Indian pitches. You come here to challenge yourself and when people come to India it is challenging as well.” Indian pitches have produced several three-day test matches in recent years.
Rohit Sharma further called out the double standards of critics who raised objections when spinners got the benefit from first day of play. Rohit added, “I would love to see the chart match referees prepare while rating pitches. We know in India ball spins from day 1, you are not okay. When ball seams from day 1, you are okay. That’s not okay.”
Rohit Sharma has also urged everyone to be neutral. Rohit said, “You come here to challenge yourself and it’s dangerous. When we say Test cricket is ultimate challenge, it’s important we stay neutral.” 23 wickets fell on day one of the second test match in Cape Town. Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah picked up crucial wickets for India.
