Rovman Powell was injured while taking a catch of Mitchell Marsh in the 2nd innings.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are clashing in match 38 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 on Sunday, April 26. The encounter is taking place at Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
LSG captain Rishabh Pant won the toss and opted to field first. Lucknow came up with an impeccable bowling show as KKR batters suffered another batting collapse in IPL 2026.
The top three batters- Ajinkya Rahane (10), Tim Seifert (0), and Angkrish Raghuvanshi (9)- completely flopped with the bat and lost their wickets within powerplay.
KKR lost their seven batters before reaching 100 runs on the board. Cameron Green (34) and Rinku Singh (83*) were the top run-scorers and took the scoreboard to 153/7.
LSG pacer Mohsin Khan clinched a fabulous five-wicket haul, while George Linde got one scalp. Despite a brilliant start, Lucknow could not bowl out KKR as Rinku remained unbeaten till the end.
Rovman Powell suffers an injury in the LSG vs KKR clash
During the match, KKR suffered a big blow as their star all-rounder Rovman Powell sustained an injury while fielding. The incident occurred in the 2nd over of the 2nd innings when Powell took the catch of Mitchell Marsh in Vaibhav Arora’s over.
Marsh mistimed his shot and hit towards mid-on. Powell was running back and while attempting the catch, he twisted and turned his body around, but still managed to grab it with two hands to his left. He fell badly on his left elbow. He was seen in immense pain and left the field, holding his left hip.
However, he returned to the field after getting brief treatment from the team physios. The injury did not look serious as Powell looked fine after returning to the field.
