Inaugural champions Rajasthan Royals (RR) will host the Mumbai Indians at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati, Assam, in Match 13 on Tuesday, April 7.

One of the four unbeaten teams in the league hitherto, the RR are currently second in the league table. The inaugural champions recorded a one-sided victory over the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the first match, courtesy of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s quickfire innings and well-rounded bowling attack.

In the second game, Gujarat Titans (GT) came close, giving RR a tough time; however, Tushar Deshpande defended 11 runs in the last over, helping the Royals defend a 210-run total.

Meanwhile, after getting a promising win over three-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the opening game, the MI lost against the Delhi Capitals (DC) by six wickets.

Mumbai lost two wickets in the powerplay, and later, Delhi bowlers were reluctant to concede runs, maintaining composure throughout the first innings and eventually restricting MI’s score to 162. Much like how things started for Delhi against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), they lost early wickets, but Sameer Rizvi’s magnificent 90-run knock paved their path to triumph.

RR, under the captaincy of Riyan Parag, have caught form; however, Hardik Pandya and co. are currently on a shaky track after their loss to Delhi at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Rajasthan has performed well in Guwahati, and their new skipper, Riyan Parag, is also well-versed with the ground. Both teams look balanced on paper, as the Mumbai Indians have won three out of their last five matches against the Rajasthan Royals.

While Barsapara favours batters, fast bowlers can pick up early wickets in the initial overs, which would be a problem for both sides. Hence, keeping all the points in mind, we back RR to beat MI in this game.
