Rajasthan Royals (RR) are all set to take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the high-voltage Eliminator match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The two teams will meet at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on May 22, Wednesday. The winner of the RR vs RCB match will advance to Qualifier 2 and take on the loser of Qualifier 1.
The Sanju Samson-led RR dominated the first half of the tournament, as they won eight out of their first nine matches. However, they lost their winning momentum in the last few games and conceded four consecutive defeats. This dented their ranking in the points table, as they finished third with 17 points.
On the other hand, the Faf du Plessis-led RCB started their campaign on a horrific note. The franchise lost six consecutive games and was piling at bottom of the points table. However, Bengaluru changed their fortunes in the second half of the league stage by winning six games in a row to qualify for the playoffs. The du Plessis-led unit finished fourth with 14 points.
