First match of SA vs IND 3-match T20I series was washed out in Durban.

The first T20I game between India and South Africa was washed out due to heavy rain in Durban. Fans were disappointed to witness intense rain rather than intense cricketing action on the field at Kingsmead Stadium in Durban. After the first T20I washout in Durban, team India are left with only 5 T20I games before the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup in 2024 in West Indies and USA. The mega T20 event is scheduled to be played in June next year.

Both camps moved to Port Elizabeth on Monday for the second T20I game in Gqeberha on Tuesday. Former Indian opener Sunil Gavaskar slammed Cricket South Africa for not providing adequate resources to resume the game in the first T20I game. Suryakumar Yadav-led side will be hoping the rain will stay away from the second T20I game and they begin their South Africa tour on Tuesday. The second T20I is scheduled to begin around 4:30 PM local time.

The rain will be likely to play a spoilsport in the second T20I game as well. Heavy showers are expected in the second T20I during the toss time. There are 52% chances of rain around 4 PM in Gqeberha and that might last for half an hour in the town. Precipitation level is likely to remain at 63-66% throughout the day and in the later part of the evening, weather is likely to remain cloudy during the entire T20I game.

As the chances of rain remain very low after 5 PM there are possibilities of a possible cricketing action in the second game of the series. The weather is likely to remain slightly cold and cloudy as the maximum temperature will be 19’C in the afternoon and also during the time the game begins. The minimum temperature is likely to go down to 16°C. The humidity level will remain around 73-77% throughout the entire day on Tuesday.

One more rain-hit game will affect Indian team as the youngsters will be running out of time to prepare for the mega T20 event in West Indies and USA. India will be playing only 3 T20I games against Afghanistan in January, this will be their final bilateral T20I series before the ICC T20 World Cup which is scheduled to be played in June 2024. The final game of the ongoing series will be played at Wanderers Stadium on Thursday.
