Suryakumar Yadav overtakes MS Dhoni and sets a new batting record in South Africa

Suryakumar Yadav scored 56 runs in 36 balls against South Africa at St. George’s Park.
Indian T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav played a massive role for India in the second T20I game along with Rinku Singh and took the team to a challenging total in the second T20I game played at St. George’s Park in Gqeberha. Suryakumar Yadav had a partnership of 70 runs with left-hand batter Rinku Singh. South Africa got the benefit of the rain-curtailed target and won the game by 5 wickets and took a 1-0 lead in the 3-match T20I series.
Indian stand-in skipper Suryakumar Yadav made a special record with his half-century in the second T20I. Suryakumar Yadav went past MS Dhoni’s score of 45 to become first Indian skipper with the highest T20I individual score in South Africa. Earlier the record was held by former Indian skipper MS Dhoni who scored 45 runs in T20 World Cup 2007 against South Africa at Kingsmead Stadium in Durban in the super 8 round.
Suryakumar Yadav completed 2000 T20I runs
Suryakumar Yadav also completed 2000 T20I career runs with his magnificent half-century. He became the third Indian batter to complete 2000 runs in this format. Before Surya, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and KL Rahul have completed this milestone in their careers. Suryakumar Yadav also became the joint fastest for India to complete this milestone in just 56 innings. Virat Kohli also completed 2000 T20I career runs in 56 innings.
Former Pakistan skipper Babar Azam is the quickest batter along with wicket-keeper Mohammad Rizwan who completed this career milestone in just 52 T20I innings. Suryakumar Yadav equaled Virat Kohli with a humongous six over mid-wicket against South African pacer Lizaad Williams. Suryakumar Yadav scored 2041 runs in 56 innings at an average of 44.36 and an outrageous strike rate of 171.20 and has hit 3 magnificent centuries.
South Africa had a wonderful start to their bilateral campaign and defeated India by 5 wickets. Proteas chased down the revised target of 152 runs in 15 overs. Reeza Hendricks played a magnificent knock of 49 runs in 27 balls. Reeza smacked 8 fours and a six. He started aggressively and never let the momentum shift away from Proteas. Suryakumar Yadav scored 56 runs in 36 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes. Rinku Singh also contributed with 68 runs to India’s total.
