Ryan Rickelton scored a century in the opening game of SA20 2025-26.

The fourth edition of South Africa’s domestic franchise tournament, SA20 2025-26, commenced on December 26 (2025) and will witness the final on January 25, 2026.

The tournament observes a battle between six teams for the title- Sunrisers Eastern Cape, Pretoria Capitals, Paarl Royals, Durban Super Giants, MI Cape Town, and Joburg Super Kings.

In the opening game of South Africa’s franchise T20 tournament, MI Cape Town and Durban Super Giants locked horns at Newlands in Cape Town. Ryan Rickelton stole the limelight with his stunning century for MI Cape Town. However, his amazing knock went in vain as his team eventually lost the clash.

A few batters have impressed with their batting heroics, smacking half-centuries and centuries to drive their team to victory in the league so far. A handful of batters became the talk of the time with their impeccable hundreds. On that note, here’s the list of all centurions in SA20 2025-26 so far.

3. Ryan Rickelton- 113 vs Durban Super Giants

Ryan Rickelton is a wicket-keeper batter who represents MI Cape Town in SA20 2025-26. He set the stage on fire in the opening game, hammering 113 runs off 63 deliveries against the Durban Super Giants.

Storming five boundaries and 11 sixes at a strike rate of 179.36, he entertained the audience with his powerful batting show in the chase. However, he could not grab victory for his team, getting dismissed by Super Giants pacer Eathan Bosch.

Batting first, Super Giants piled up 232/5 in the first innings. Cape Town remained short of 15 runs for victory, ending with 217/7 in the second innings.

2. Shai Hope- 118* vs Durban’s Super Giants

West Indies batter Shai Hope represents Pretoria Capitals in SA20 2025-26. In the 20th match of the tournament against Durban’s Super Giants, he rocked with his stunning ton.

The opening batter slammed an unbeaten 118 runs off 69 deliveries, smacking nine fours and an equal number of sixes.

At a strike rate of 171+, he thrilled the spectators at Kingsmead Stadium and propelled his team to 201/4 in the first innings. Later, his team also won the encounter by 15 runs, bunding out the opposition at 186 runs.

After his marvellous batting show in the opening game, Rickelton once again grabbed the limelight in the 20th match of SA20 2025-26 against Joburg Super Kings, hitting an exactly similar score of 113 runs. However, this time, he remained unbeaten and led his team to victory.

Sharing the openers’ slot with Rassie van de Dussen, the wicket-keeper batter scored an unbeaten 113 runs off 60 deliveries, smacking eight boundaries and nine sixes. Batting at a stupendous strike rate of 188.33, he drove the scoreboard to 234/3 in the first innings.

Restricting the opposition to 198/5, Cape Town won the clash by 36 runs. Rickelton was awarded Player of the Match for his rocking show.
