SA20 2025-26: List of teams qualified for Playoffs

All four teams have qualified for the SA20 2025-26 knockout stage.

The SA20 2025-26 season has reached its most exciting phase, with the league stage concluding after weeks of high-intensity cricket.

As the dust settles, four teams have earned their place in the SA20 2025–26 playoffs. Paarl Royals, Pretoria Capitals, Sunrisers Eastern Cape, and Joburg Super Kings will clash in the next round. On the other hand, the Durban Super Giants and MI Cape Town have been eliminated from the tournament.

With the playoff qualification going down to the last day, the teams will now battle it out for a spot in the grand finale.

All teams qualified for Playoffs-

1. Sunrisers Eastern Cape

Topping the SA20 points table are the Sunrisers Eastern Cape, who once again showcased their pedigree in franchise cricket. The two-time champions finished first with 28 points from 10 league matches. They registered five wins, suffered three losses, and two were washed out due to rain.

The Sunrisers secured the top spot by defeating MI Cape Town in their last league match, proving their ability to perform well even under challenging circumstances. Their consistency throughout the tournament makes them strong favourites heading into the playoffs.

2. Pretoria Capitals

The Pretoria Capitals claimed second place with 24 points, edging out the competition thanks to a superior net run rate. Despite a slow start to the campaign, the Capitals found momentum at the right time, winning four of their last five matches.

With five wins, four losses, and one abandoned match, their late surge ensured a top-two finish, giving them the advantage of an extra opportunity to reach the final.

3. Paarl Royals

Finishing third are the Paarl Royals, who also accumulated 24 points from the league stage. Like the Capitals, the Royals won five matches, lost four, and had one game washed out due to rain.

They were well-positioned for a top-two finish but suffered defeats in their final two league matches, pushing them into third place.

Adding to their concerns ahead of the playoffs is the injury to captain David Miller, who sustained a groin issue in the last match. His availability remains uncertain, which could impact the Royals’ playoff campaign.

4. Joburg Super Kings

The final playoff spot was clinched by the Joburg Super Kings, who finished fourth with 22 points. The Super Kings managed four wins and four losses, with two matches ending without a result.

Despite dealing with multiple injuries to key players, they produced a crucial victory in their last league game. That win proved decisive, knocking the Durban Super Giants out of playoffs contention and securing Joburg’s place in the knockout stage.

SA20 Playoffs Fixtures: A battle for Glory

The SA20 2025-26 playoffs will kick off with Qualifier 1, in which the Sunrisers Eastern Cape face the Pretoria Capitals at Kingsmead, Durban, on January 21. The winner will advance directly to the final, while the losing side will get another opportunity in Qualifier 2.

The Eliminator, scheduled for January 22 at Centurion, will see Paarl Royals take on Joburg Super Kings in a repeat of their final league-stage clash. The winner of the Eliminator will meet the loser of Qualifier 1 in Qualifier 2, with the victor securing a place in the SA20 final on Sunday, January 25.

With the SA20 2025–26 playoffs set to begin, fans can expect thrilling encounters as these four teams compete for the title. The road to the final promises drama, high stakes, and top-quality T20 cricket.
