The third edition of the SA20 2025 auction will take place on October 1, 2024 in Cape Town.

The SA20 2025 auction will take place in Cape Town on Tuesday, October 1, 2024. All six franchises participating in the tournament will finalize their squads ahead of the tournament, which is scheduled to start on January 9, 2025.

There have been two seasons of SA20 so far (2023 and 2024). Both editions were won by the Aiden Markram-led Sunrisers Eastern Cape.

In the third edition of the SA20 auction, only 13 slots are to be filled across the six teams. A total of 188 local and international cricketers will go under the hammer in the auction.

Each franchise must have at least 19 cricketers in their squad. All six franchises should have at least 17 ‘normal’ squad players, one Wildcard player, and one rookie player in their squad.

Some renowned names who will enter the SA20 auction this time are West Indies pacer Shamar Joseph, England’s Jake Ball, Ollie Robinson and Josh Hull, and former New Zealand opener Martin Guptill.
