Sachin Tendulkar massively praised Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj.
Leghendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has lavished praise on Mohammed Siraj following his performance in the England series, calling it “remarkable.” Tendulkar feels that Siraj hasn’t received the recognition he has earned during his career.
Siraj was only the second bowler in the series to bowl more than 1000 balls after England’s Chris Woakes, with 1113 deliveries. On the last day, he bowled India to a stunning series-equalizing victory at The Oval, taking the most wickets with 23.
“Unbelievable. Superb approach. I like that attitude. Love the spring in his legs. If you don’t look at the scoreboard and just look at his body language, you will not be able to make out if Siraj has taken 5 wickets or he hasn’t taken any wickets. The body language, attitudes, and approach remain the same,” Tendulkar said in a video on Reddit.
“He has a big heart”—Sachin Tendulkar on Mohammed Siraj’s hard work and efforts

Tendulkar went on to point out that Siraj’s effort and attitude made him uneasy for batsmen.
“No batsman likes a fast bowler who is in your face relentlessly. If you go ask Joe Root, who is a world-class player and who has made so many runs, if he would prefer facing Siraj or someone who bowls quietly and goes, he will undoubtedly prefer the other, because Siraj is always in my face. That’s what he is about. He has bowled about 1000 deliveries in this series, and till the last day, his approach and the speeds he bowled in his last few deliveries, like 90 mph, show Jigar—he has a big heart,” he added.
Mohammed Siraj led the Indian pace attack in the matches where Jasprit Bumrah didn’t play and proved to be the match-winner for India.
He was remarkable: Sachin Tendulkar on Mohammed Siraj’s bowling on day five of the fifth Test
Mohammed Siraj was the star on the final day’s play as he bowled his heart out to take the last three out of four wickets for India. The large roller that was used on the last morning, according to the experts, might flatten the pitch and prevent any seam movement.
However, Siraj harassed the England batsmen by making the ball talk in overcast circumstances. He bowled away from the off stump with a clear plan, preying on the batsmen’s nerves as they continued to feel and look for the ball.
“And he did. He was remarkable, the way he started on that last day. He has always been instrumental in playing a key role whenever we need him to deliver that knockout punch—he has been able to do it in the past, and so was the case in this series. People underplay him; the kind of focus he should have on him doesn’t get the credit that he deserves. I love watching him bowl,” Tendulkar concluded.
