Sachin Tendulkar to become the next BCCI President? Batting great’s team issues official statement

Sachin Tendulkar, as per the reports, was all set to become the BCCI President.
Batting great Sachin Tendulkar has been in the news for the last few days. There were a lot of reports which claimed that the former Indian skipper is in contention for the presidency of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) following the exit of Roger Binny.
Roger Binny, who was the President of the BCCI, retired from the post following his tenure. Since then, the governing body has been looking for a new candidate with some reports claiming that a top cricketer is in line to take over the post. Later, it was claimed that it was none other than Sachin Tendulkar.
“No such development has taken place” – Sachin Tendulkar’s team on him becoming BCCI President
Amid all the rumours, Sachin Tendulkar’s team has come up with a clarification, dismissing all the rumours. They confirmed that the batting great hasn’t been nominated or is in contention to take over the post. They released the statement saying:
“It has come to our attention that certain reports and rumours have been circulating regarding Mr. Sachin Tendulkar being considered, or nominated, for the position of President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI),” the official statement read. “We wish to categorically state that no such development has taken place
Tendulkar’s team also urged the media to stop spreading the speculations, saying: “We urge all concerned to refrain from giving credence to unfounded speculations,” the statement further said. The statement was issued by SRT Sports Management Pvt Ltd.
The BCCI elections for the posts of president, vice-president, secretary, joint secretary, and treasurer are all set to take place on 28th September. The reports in Cricbuzz claimed that secretary Devajit Saikia, joint secretary Rohan Gauns Dessai, and treasurer Prabhtej Singh Bhatia will retain their positions.
All the attention is on the BCCI President post along with the vice-president and the Indian Premier League (IPL) Chairman. Rajeev Shukla, who is the vice-president, is expected to serve the governing body in some capacity. It remains to be seen who will take over the presidential post.
