Pakistan Cricket Team have a tough challenge against Sri Lanka in their last game of Super 8 in T20 World Cup 2026. They need to outplay the Dasun Shanaka & Co. by at least 65 runs to qualify for the semi-finals from Group 2.

Pakistan were asked to bat first by Sri Lanka, and their batters stood up to the challenge. Opener Sahibzada Farhan did not leave any stone unturned to propel the team to a mammoth total.

The right-handed batsman scored a century in the encounter, reaching the three-figure mark in just 60 deliveries. Ahead of losing his wicket in the 20th over, he smacked nine fours and five sixes at a strike rate of 166.67. With his century, he drove the team’s scoreboard to 212/8.

With his ton, Farhan has grabbed an incredible record in the tournament’s history. He has become the first-ever batter to score two tons in a single edition of the T20 World Cup. In the past, 13 batters had scored hundreds in T20 World Cup; however, none of them scored two centuries in a single edition. Earlier, he scored a hundred against Namibia in the league stage.

Now, a total of 14 batsmen have scored centuries in the tournament’s history. They are Chris Gayle, Sahibzada Farhan, Ahmed Shehzad, Harry Brook, Jos Buttler, Alex Hales, Mahela de Jayawardene, Brendon McCullum, Pathum Nissanka, Glenn Phillips, Suresh Raina, Rilee Rossouw, Yuvraj Singh Samra and Tamil Iqbal.

Except for Gayle and Farhan, all others have smacked one century. Gayle scored two centuries in two different editions- 2007 and 2018.
