Pakistan, under the leadership of Salman Agha, lost Asia Cup 2025 final to India by five wickets.

Pakistan Cricket Team skipper Salman Agha had a poor outing as whole in the final of Asia Cup 2025 against Indian Cricket Team. The summit clash between the two arch-rivals took place at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai on Sunday, September 28.

Salman Agha, who was pretty confident of winning the final against India, couldn’t live up to the expectations. Not only he failed as a batter, but also as a skipper as his side was in a real position to win the game, especially after the start that they had with the ball.

Pakistan, who were asked to bat first, faced a terrible collapse in the middle as from 113/1, they got all out 146. This came after Sahibzada Farhan (57) and Fakhar Zaman (46) etched an opening stand of 84 runs to put India under pressure.

Salman Agha failed to score big as well as his poor run in the tournament continued. However, his team had a strong start with the ball as India lost three wickets for just 20 and it seemed that it would be an easy win for Pakistan.

But, Tilak Varma (69*) came out of syllabus and played one of his best innings of his career. He slammed a brilliant fifty under pressure. A vital supports from Sanju Samson (24) an Shivam Dube (33) saw him taking his team home with five wickets in hand.

The India vs Pakistan clash would have been incomplete had it not got marred by controversy. It was the case as well as after the game concluded. At first, Pakistan players refused to attend the post-match presentation and then the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi, who is also the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) president, ran away with trophy when Indian players refused to take it from him.

Amid all this another eye-catching incident happened. When Pakistan came for the presentation and skipper Salman Agha was called to collect the runner up cheque, he came with a shambolic action.

He threw away the cheque and the faced the immediate criticism. Fans in the stands stared booing him and the humiliation was visible on his face.
