Samit Dravid has been picked in India U19 squads for the multi-format series against Australia U-19.
Samit Dravid, the son of legendary Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid, caught the attention of the cricketing world after being named in the India U-19 squads to face Australia U-19 in the multi-format home series in September and October.
Earlier, Samit registered impressive performances in the Cooch Behar Trophy while playing for Karnataka. The youngster gave glimpses of his potential in the Maharaja T20 trophy, in which he represented the Mysuru Warriors.
In the Cooch Behar Trophy, the youngster slammed 362 runs and took 16 wickets in eight outings and helped Karnataka win the title.
However, Samit had underwhelming KSCA Maharaja T20 trophy in Bengaluru. The youngster has scored 82 runs from seven innings and is yet to bowl in the tournament.
Samit has all-round abilities, but the youngster can’t represent India in the ICC U-19 World Cup 2026, irrespective of the runs and wickets he takes for the junior team.
Why Samit Dravid isn’t eligible to play in U19 World Cup 2026 ?
The reason behind Samit not being eligible to play in the next U-19 World Cup is his age. Samit was born on November 10, 2005 and he will turn 20 years old in 2025.
Rahul Dravid’s son Samit was eligible to play in the U-19 World Cup 2024, which was played earlier this year in South Africa. However, he wasn’t picked in the India U-19 team.
