Sanjay Bangar termed Mohammed Shami as the biggest foodie in the current team.

Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Bangar has made a big revelation about the biggest foodie in Indian Cricket Team. The ex-head coach of the team picked Mohammed Shami over Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant, who are considered foodies by fans.

Players have to control their diet to maintain a high level of fitness in their lives. Virat Kohli, who is the fittest player of India, sacrificed his love for food for his commitment to fitness.

Notably, Indian players travel to different countries throughout the year. Hence, being exposed to different food cultures is a part of their lives. While many players often stick to their strict diet routine, a few others don’t like to compromise with their food all the time.

Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar also once agreed to being a foodie. Current India ODI skipper Rohit Sharma has been known for his love for food and is considered one of the biggest foodie in the team. Similarly, Rishabh Pant is also known for being a foodie who loves North Indian food.

Speaking on Star Sports, former India opener Bangar named Mohammed Shami as the biggest foodie in the current Indian team.

“In today’s team, I think it’s Mohammed Shami. He is very fond of eating. Whenever you bring food in front of him, he enjoys it and not just for himself, he makes sure the person next to him eats as well,” he said.

Notably, Shami is quite known for his love for non-vegetarian food like mutton biryani. The right-arm pacer last played for India during ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in March. He will be next seen playing for East Zone in Duleep Trophy 2025.

Notably, Shami is looking for a return to the national side. He was not part of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 due to the fitness issues. He was last seen in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, where he was part of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

Shami struggled with his form and fitness in the tournament, claiming six wickets in nine games at an economy of 11.23.
