Batting at No. 4, Sanju Samson scored a brilliant half-century (58*) against Zimbabwe in Harare in 2022.
Batting first, India made a challenging total of 167/6 on the back of Samson’s sublime knock of 58 runs off 45 balls, which included one four and four sixes. India won the one-sided game by 42 runs.
4. 77 vs Ireland, Dublin, 2022
Samson played a terrific knock of 77 runs against Ireland in Dublin in 2022. Batting first, India made 225/7 on the back of Samson’s 77 off 42 balls, which included nine fours and four sixes.
He played the anchor role, adding 176 runs with Deepak Hooda for the second wicket partnership. India won the game in a thrilling fashion by just two runs.
3. 107 vs South Africa, Durban, 2024
Samson’s second T20I century came in Durban during India’s tour of South Africa in 2024. Batting first, the Indian innings was led by Sanju Samson, who smashed 107 off 50 balls.
The wicket-keeper joined hands with Tilak Varma to add 77 runs for the fourth wicket. Samson’s superb innings included seven fours and 10 sixes. India won the game by 61 runs.
2. 109* vs South Africa, Johannesburg, 2024
One of Samson’s most memorable T20I innings came in Johannesburg against South Africa in 2024.
Samson’s 109-run knock, which consisted of six fours and nine sixes, propelled the visitors to a massive first-innings score of 283 runs. Despite scoring a hundred, surprisingly, Samson’s knock was overshadowed by Tilak Varma, who stole the spotlight with a brilliant 120 off just 47 balls.
India won the game by 135 runs.
1. 111 vs Bangladesh, Hyderabad, 2024
Sanju Samson registered his highest T20I score of 111 during the third T20I of Bangladesh tour of India in 2024.
Opting to bat first, India notched up a record total of 297/6 on the back of Samson’s stunning century, which included 11 fours and eight sixes. He put on 173 runs with Suryakumar Yadav for the second-wicket partnership, setting the stage for Hardik Pandya to do his finishing duties.
The hosts won the game by 133 runs and Samson was named Player of the Match for scoring his maiden T20I ton.
