MS Dhoni slammed three consecutive sixes to Hardik Pandya in the four balls he faced.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match on Sunday (April 14) between arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) was all about MS Dhoni taking every Indian cricket fan on a nostalgic voyage at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.
Watching the former India captain hit sixes against MI at the Wankhede Stadium was nostalgic, reminding everyone of the 2011 World Cup final victory.
Dhoni has been the buzz of the town since his cameo appearance against MI on Sunday. The former CSK captain, who stepped out to bat in the final over of the first innings with only four balls remaining, whacked the opposition captain, Hardik Pandya, for a hat trick of sixes. With his 20* (4), the reigning champions managed to get past the 200-run mark.
He smashed Pandya for three consecutive sixes in the four balls he faced and made all of his fans’ day in the stadium and those who were watching on TV and online.
One of those fans watching MS Dhoni turn back the clock was Sara Tendulkar, daughter of Sachin Tendulkar. Sara was also in the stands during her father’s final World Cup game, the 2011 final against Sri Lanka.
Sara Tendulkar attended the recent MI vs CSK game and was surprised to witness Dhoni hit such massive shots against MI in a video, that has now gone viral.
