"We've stopped eating rice and roti.." Sarfaraz Khan's father Naushad reveals diet plan as India test cricketer loses 17 kg of weight

Indian cricketer Sarfaraz Khan has undergone incredible body transformation over the past few months. On Monday, July 21, Sarfaraz shared his latest photo on social media with a lean physique. His father Naushad Khan has revealed how his son changed his diet over the last few months.
Notably, Sarfaraz has lost 17 Kg of weight. During India A’s tour of England Lions, he had lost about 10 kgs. He was not picked for India’s squad for the ongoing test series against England. After his snub, he continued with his weight loss journey and has now shed 17 Kg of weight.
Many fans and cricketers heaped praise on Sarfaraz following his incredible transformation. Former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen lauded the Indian cricketer on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
We have stopped eating roti and rice – Father Naushad Khan reveals Sarfaraz Khan’s diet

During an interview with Hindustan Times, Sarfaraz’s father revealed how his son controlled his diet during his weight loss journey. He revealed that they have stopped eating rice and roti. He also revealed that Sarfaraz looks forward to shedding more weight.
“We have controlled our diet a lot. We have stopped eating roti, rice, etc. We haven’t eaten roti or rice at home for 1 to 1.5 months. We eat broccoli, carrot, cucumber, salad, and green vegetable salad. Along with that, we eat grilled fish, grilled chicken, boiled chicken, boiled egg, etc. We are also having green tea and green coffee,” he said.
“We eat avocados also. There are sprouts also. But the main thing is that we have stopped eating roti and rice. We have stopped eating sugar. We have stopped eating maida (flour) and bakery items. He has almost lost 10 kgs within 1.5 months. He is working on reducing his weight even further,” he added.
Notably, Sarfaraz was overlooked by selectors for the test series against England. He showed a brilliant form in the unofficial test series against England Lions, scoring a century for India A. He made his international debut last year.
The right-handed batsman has played six tests so far, scoring 371 runs in 11 innings at an average of 37.10. He has also hammered one century and three half-centuries. Sarfaraz was part of the India squad during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25, however, he didn’t get a spot in the playing XI.
