Scotland schedule for ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 – Timings, dates, venues, all you need to know

Scotland will kick-off their ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 campaign against Bangladesh on October 3.

The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 will start on October 3 in Sharjah with Bangladesh facing Scotland in an afternoon match.

Earlier, Bangladesh were supposed to host the tournament. However, due to the nationwide protests in the country, which have taken a violent turn, and the political instability, the International Cricket Council (ICC) moved the Women’s T20 World Cup to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has retained the hosting rights though.

The ninth edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup will see 10 teams compete. These 10 sides are divided into two groups of five each. Each team will play four group stage matches in their respective groups.

The top two teams from each group will advance through to the semi-finals. The winners of both semi-finals will reach the grand finale, to be played on October 20 in Dubai.

Australia are the defending champions. They have, in fact, won the last three women’s T20 World Cups.

Scotland are slotted in Group B, along with South Africa, England, West Indies and Bangladesh. In the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, Scotland will aim to put up a tough fight against the stronger opponents.

Group B: South Africa, England, West Indies, Bangladesh, Scotland

Scotland schedule for ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024:

Scotland will play the opening match of the tournament against host Bangladesh in Sharjah on October 3. Then they will take on the West Indies on October 6 in Dubai.

Their third group stage match is against South Africa in Dubai on October 9. Scotland’s final league stage game is against England on October 13 in Sharjah.
