Scott Boland became 10th Australian bowler to take a test hat-trick.

As Australia won the third test of the three-match series against the West Indies by 176 runs, Scott Boland captured everyone’s attention with an incredible hat-trick in the game.

West Indies, who were playing at Jamaica’s Sabina Park, were swept out for just 27 on the third day while chasing a target of 204. With his outstanding six-wicket haul, pacer Mitchell Starc was Australia’s hero. He shattered multiple records with his first five wickets in just 2.3 overs. Nonetheless, Boland’s hat-trick was the talk of the town.

Mitchell Starc picked 6/9 and also completed his 400 wickets in tests in his 100th test for Australia. It was an amazing performance from the Australian pacers as West Indies was shot out for 27 runs, the second lowest total by a team ever, just behind New Zealand’s 26.

Scott Boland takes an amazing hat-trick for Australia

Australian fast bowler Scott Boland made history by claiming a spectacular hat-trick in the fourth innings of the third and final test against the West Indies at Jamaica’s Sabina Park. Boland also became the first bowler to pick a test hat-trick in a day-night match, emphasizing the importance of his achievement.

In the 14th over of the West Indies chase, Boland first dismissed Justin Greaves, who was caught by Beau Webster at second slip. On the next delivery, he struck Shamar Joseph’s pads, and the third umpire pronounced him LBW out. Finally, Boland used his pace to clean up Jomel Warrican on the next ball, completing his hat-trick.

The 36-year-old pacer became the 10th Australian to score a Test hat-trick, joining Frederick Spofforth, Hugh Trumble, Jimmy Matthews, Lindsay Kline, Merv Hughes, Damien Fleming, Shane Warne, Glenn McGrath, and Peter Siddle.

Spofforth, notably, was the first bowler in test cricket history to take a hat-trick way back in 1878-79 against England.
