Shikhar Dhawan's wedding date & venue revealed; Indian star to tie the knot again with Sophie Shine

Former Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan is set to enter marital bliss for the second time. The 40-year-old is set to enter into wedlock with Sophie Shine after months of speculation about the relationship between the two. Dhawan, has been spotted with Shine on several occasions on social media.
Ireland born Sophie Shine took to her Instagram account and wrote “It’s a new beginning and they are treating it with quiet happiness and a lot of gratitude”. The duo were first spotted together in Dubai last year watching ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Since then rumor mills began to talk about Dhawan’s new companion.
According to reports carried by HT City, the former Indian player will tie the knot in February. The marriage is likely to take place in Delhi-NCR with Dhawan himself being hands-on with the preparations for the wedding. There are several big names set to be invited for Dhawan’s second innings in marital life.
Shikhar Dhawan and Sophie Shine’s relation set to be formalized

As per many reports, Dhawan and his soon to be Ireland born wife met each other in Dubai sometime ago. The meeting turned into friendship which blossomed into love. Reports also suggest that the two have been staying with each other for more than a year now.
Sophie Shine is also the one who is apparently spearheading the Shikhar Dhawan foundation which is part of Da One Sports unit. Both, Dhawan and Shine have been pretty active on social media, and were often seen with each other. The duo didn’t confirm their relationship status before taking to her Instagram handle to confirm the news of her impending wedding.
Shikhar Dhawan’s turbulent first marriage
40-year-old Shikhar Dhawan was previously married to Australia based Ayesha Mukherjee. Ayesha, had two children from her previous marriage and was over ten years older to Dhawan at the time of her marriage. Ayesha and Shikhar then welcome their son Zorawar in December 2014.
The former Indian star was always seen with his family during matches. Dhawan’s married life with Ayesha ended in 2021 before the pair were formally granted divorce in October 2023. The left-handed batter with 269 international matches for India retired in August 2024 as one of the top run-getters for India in ODI cricket.
