Shreyas Iyer won his eleventh toss as the captain of the Indian T20I team.
Shreyas Iyer has been appointed the skipper of the Indian team, which has been going through a crucial phase of massive transition. After a difficult beginning to India’s T20I campaign under captain Shreyas against Ireland and England, the world T20 champions bounced back strongly during the Zimbabwe series.
He has been named the captain of the Indian side for the upcoming series against Afghanistan and the Asian Games as well. India entered the second T20I in Delhi with a 1-0 lead after a commanding seven-wicket victory in the opener. Entering the series, the Indian skipper made a stunning record.

Iyer continued his remarkable run in the second IND vs AFG T20I in Delhi, adding another successful toss to his record. He had won the toss in the first Afghanistan T20I as well, when India elected to bowl first and subsequently won by seven wickets.
The milestone is significant because Iyer has now established himself as India’s most successful captain in terms of consecutive T20I toss wins. 11 tosses won by Shreyas Iyer in T20Is are the most won by a captain in his first 12 matches in charge in the format.
There is also an interesting contrast with India’s recent history. Rohit Sharma endured a famously difficult run at the toss during his captaincy, including an 11-toss losing streak in ODIs. Iyer’s experience has been almost the exact opposite in the shortest format.
