Shubman Gill has scored 607 runs in first three matches of the ongoing test series against England.

The third test between England Cricket Team and Indian Cricket Team is underway at the Lord’s Cricket Ground in London. Indian skipper Shubman Gill has shown a marvellous batting form in the series. While Gill failed to get big scores in the ongoing third test, he slammed a double century and a century across both innings in the second test at Edgbaston.

Moreover, Gill also smacked a century in the opening test at Headingley, Leeds. In the second test, Gill also broke plenty of records with his double ton and century. So far, the Indian skipper has slammed three centuries across six innings in the series, including a top knock of 269 runs.

The right-handed batsman has mustered 607 runs in three tests at a stunning average of 101.16. He also led the team to victory in the second test by 336 runs. The five-match test series is tied 1-1 after two games.

Shubman Gill breaks Rahul Dravid’s 23-year-old record

Reaching 607 runs in the series, Gill has broken a 23-year-old record of former India cricketer Rahul Dravid. Gill now holds the record for most runs in a test series against England in England by an Indian batter. He has gone past Dravid’s tally of 602 runs.

During the 2002 away series, Dravid piled up 602 runs in six innings across four tests against England with three centuries and one half-century. This was the record for most runs by an Indian batsman in a test series in England until Gill went past it.
