Shubman Gill has emerged as one of the most exciting young talents in world cricket. Having made his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut in 2018 with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Gill experienced his breakout season in 2020, scoring 440 runs in the campaign.

In 2022, he joined Gujarat Titans (GT) and had the best IPL season of his career in 2023, scoring 890 runs at a strike rate of 158. After Hardik Pandya’s departure to Mumbai Indians, Gill was named captain of the franchise in 2024.

5. 96 vs Punjab Kings, Brabourne, 2022

The Gujarat Titans vs Punjab Kings match was one of the most memorable contests of IPL 2022, played at the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai.

Chasing 190, GT were anchored by Shubman Gill, who scored 96 off 59 balls, including 11 fours and a six. His innings laid the foundation for a big run chase.

The game ended in a last-ball thriller, with Rahul Tewatia hitting two sixes off the last two balls to secure the win for GT.

4. 101 vs Sunrisers Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, 2023

Another Shubman Gill masterclass came in the 62nd match of IPL 2023 against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Ahmedabad, where the right-hander whacked 101 runs.

Gill’s match-winning innings, which included 13 fours and a six, helped his team post a challenging first-innings total of 188 runs.

He was named Player of the Match in GT’s 34-run win.

3. 104 vs Chennai Super Kings, Ahmedabad, 2024

Gill was at his best against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) during their league stage match in IPL 2024 in Ahmedabad.

Gill’s 104-run knock, which included nine fours and six sixes, powered the hosts to a massive first-innings total of 231 runs. The captain was well supported by Sai Sudharsan, who scored 103 runs to lay the foundation for their first-innings score.

Gill’s brilliance helped GT win the game comfortably by 35 runs.

2. 104* vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Bengaluru, 2023

Gill’s second-highest IPL score came in Bengaluru in Match 70 of IPL 2023 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

Chasing 198, GT lost Wriddhiman Saha early. Gill then added 123 runs with Vijay Shankar to help GT secure a six-wicket win.

His 104-run knock, which came off 52 balls and included five fours and eight sixes, earned him the Player of the Match award.

1. 129 vs Mumbai Indians, Ahmedabad, 2023

Gill recorded his highest IPL score against Mumbai Indians in Qualifier 2 of IPL 2023 in Ahmedabad. His 129-run knock was his third century of the season.

Batting first, GT notched up 233 runs on the back of Gill’s stunning century, which included seven fours and 10 sixes.

GT ultimately won the game by 62 runs and Gill was named Player of the Match.
